Washington Redskins tackle Trent Williams posted a picture on his Instagram that appeared to show him getting ready for a procedure, which opened many eyebrows around the NFL.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, it's just a cleanup surgery and is considered minor. Back in February Williams underwent surgery to remove a growth/tumor on his head. This is evidently just a follow up to that procedure.

The first procedure is the rumored reason why Williams didn't wasn't at mandatory mini-camp last week. There are also some rumors that Williams wants a new contract even though he has two years left in his deal.

Redskins team president Bruce Allen said he has talked to Williams about why he missed minicamp but would keep that conversation private.

“I know what Trent told me so I know what the truth is,” Allen said via NBC Sports Washington. “I'll leave my conversation with Trent between the two of us.”

Allen said that Williams is an important player and the hope is that something can be worked out so he will be with the team.

“Trent has been a valuable player for us and that's why we signed him to the contract he has,” Allen said.

Allen doesn't seem to be helping answer any of the questions surrounding Williams and if anything it raises more questions about the situation and how it will be resolved.

“I've talked to Trent a few times,” Allen said. “He's explained some things to me and I'll leave it at that.”

The Redskins will hope to turn things around next season.
