Washington Redskins head coach Ron Rivera has acknowledged that quarterback Dwayne Haskins is understanding of the team exploring all options with the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. It appears the Redskins could be planning on doing more than just their due diligence.

It has been deemed a foregone conclusion that the Cincinnati Bengals will take LSU quarterback Joe burrow with the first pick. This leaves Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as the next best option, especially after the positive reports regarding his recovery from a hip injury. It seems Washington is doing plenty of homework on the direction they would like to take under center.

The prospect of them bringing in another quarterback under the new regime after using a first-rounder on Haskins is certainly not too far-fetched. The Arizona Cardinals essentially did the same thing when they replaced Josh Rosen with Kyler Murray under center following the arrival of new head coach Kliff Kingsbury and it is safe to say that the decision has worked out for them.

Washington could very well be looking to do the same thing if Rivera is not particularly high on Haskins. While Ohio State defensive end Chase Young has been pegged as the favorite to go No. 2, it appears nothing is set in stone just yet.
