The Los Angeles Lakers are signing guard Alex Caruso to a two-year, two-way deal, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

This two-way contract will allow the Texas A&M alum to develop in the newly established G-League while earning NBA royalties whenever he is called up to suit in purple-and-gold.

Caruso has shown his playmaking skills in the Summer League, becoming the darling of Lakers fans before Lonzo Ball exploded for a career-high night against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

His ability to see the floor, shoot the ball efficiently and hustle defensively earned him a contract that can land him in the roster for a few games while he develops in the G-League for the majority of the time.

Caruso spent time with the Oklahoma City Blue after going undrafted following his senior year at College Station. He started in only one of the Lakers' four Summer League games, making a lasting impression during his lone start, finishing with 18 points, nine assists, and four steals.
