The offseason is off to a wild start before the NBA Draft and free agency. The biggest news coming out of the Big Apple previously was that the Knicks plan on moving on from Carmelo Anthony.

That entire situation is in progress matter due to Anthony's no trade clause, but now it has been pushed back due to reports that Knicks president Phil Jackson is fielding offers for star big man Kristaps Porzingis.

In an odd ending to the season, the Unicorn reportedly skipped the team's exit interviews entirely and has not been in contact with the organization since. Although other reports say he would prefer to stay with the Knicks, it isn't clear they feel the same.

Since, reports have surfaced that the Knicks brass is asking the Phoenix Suns for their #4 draft pick and a player in a trade for Porzingis. While Jackson may also be looking to dump some salary if he does indeed to make this move, he isn't stopping there.

Just in case this trade or any other does become a reality, the Knicks have a replacement for Porzingis in mind at 8th overall in the draft

Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical reports that the Knicks are looking at 7-3 big man Lauri Markkanen from Arizona with the selection.

The Finland native is already drawing comparisons to Dirk Nowitzki for his height, ability to shoot from deep, and versatile offensive abilities on the perimeter.
