The Houston Rockets are a young team in the middle of a lengthy rebuild, so naturally there have been some growing pains. Frustrations boiled over during their loss to the Nuggets on Jan. 1, with both Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr. missing the entire second half after an argument with an assistant coach. Porter Jr. went as far as to leave the arena as a result of the altercation, whereas Wood reportedly refused to re-enter the game in the midst of a large deficit. Now, the pair are set to be disciplined by the team as a result of Saturday's antics, per Adrian Wojnarowski.

Both Porter Jr. and Wood will be suspended from the Rockets' Monday night game against the Philadelphia 76ers to their poor behavior on Saturday night.
Article Continues BelowThe incident stemmed from an altercation between Rockets assistant coach John Lucas and various Houston players, including Wood and Porter Jr. Lucas reportedly challenged the players to pick up their performance against Denver, which clearly rubbed Wood and Porter Jr. the wrong way. Porter Jr. reportedly threw an object and had to be physically restrained from Lucas. The guard was informed he'd be benched by the Rockets for the second half, and rather than return to the sideline, he opted to leave the arena altogether.
Wood, on the other hand, had entered the game under punishment, sitting out the first quarter as a result of a missed mandatory COVID-19 test earlier on Saturday. After struggling in his eight minutes of game action, Wood reportedly informed the Rockets coaching staff he'd lost interest in coming out for the second half, and was thus benched.
The two will now face consequences for their actions from Saturday, as they will be suspended for the Rockets' game against the Sixers.
