Riot Games has introduced another League of Legends game, this time titled Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. This turn-based role playing game (RPG) joins Riot Forge's release of Hextech Mayhem, a League-themed rhythm runner on Nintendo Switch. As the first-ever RPG from Riot, fans have long been anticipating its arrival ever since it was announced last year. Here's the official release date, platforms, versions and gameplay for Ruined King.

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story Release Date: November 16, 2021

Ruined King releases on November 16, 2021. It comes out simultaneously on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 platforms. Riot also confirmed that the title will be arriving on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in the future.

As for the story and gameplay, Ruined King revolves around the champion Viego. Players take on a mission to bring Viego down through the streets of Bilgewater, an area in Runeterra (the same universe that League of Legends and Arcane are set in). The trailer above also showcases the game's brilliant graphics and comic book style.

The turn-based nature of the game means that only one character can move at a time. So players will have to be strategic about making their moves in each fight, creating good combos or sequences as they select champions' actions one after the other.

The ragtag band of heroes includes six iconic League of Legends champions. You can play as: Ahri, Braum, Illaoi, Miss Fortune, Pyke, and Yasuo. As they represent a different set of characters from Arcane‘s focus on Piltover, newer folks can meet other champions in League and the Runeterra universe (which Riot seems dedicated to expanding with all these new games and content).

Aside from the Standard version, Ruined King also comes in a Deluxe pack and a Collector's Edition. Each delivers their own bonus content. For the Deluxe version, players can get Ruined Skins for each champion and the Ruination Starter Pack in addition to the base game. Meanwhile, the Collector's Edition offers a bunch of physical collectibles, including an Art Book, 12″ Vinyl Soundtrack, Bilgewater Mug, Notebook and pen, and Cloth Map of Bilgewater.
