It looks like that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are inching closer toward officially hiring Bruce Arians as the franchise’s next head coach. In an appearance on Good Morning Football on Monday, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network said that the talks between Arians and the Bucs are trending positively and that there could be a decision as soon as Monday or Tuesday.

“At this point, there is a lot of momentum toward Bruce Arians becoming the next coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It hasn't happened yet. It’s not like there’s an agreement, but it is absolutely from the what I’m told, heading in that direction. We should have some finality in this situation either today or potentially tomorrow.”

It could be remembered that Arians had announced his retirement from football last year after steering the Arizona Cardinals to an 8-8 finish in the 2017 season. However, the itch to get back into coaching is seemingly too much for Arians to ignore, as evidenced by the rumors of his comeback attempt with the Bucs.

While Rapoport has noted that there is no official word yet with regards to Arians being the next head coach of Tampa Bay, the team is not going to find many on the market with a better resume.

Arians has a career 88-49-1 record as an NFL head coach and has won the AP NFL Coach of the Year award twice in 2012 and 2014.
