When speaking to reporters earlier this week, Kevin Durant further explained his motives for signing with the Golden State Warriors in this summer’s free agency. Durant cited selflessness and a sense of community as reasons for making the move, as per Anthony Slater of The Mercury News.

“You hear family a lot. That’s just a word sometimes, but this is really a lifestyle here. You can feel it when you walk in the door, in the practice facility, everybody is just together. That’s something that I can appreciate as a basketball player and someone who values relationships. You can tell that that’s what they stand on, that’s what we stand on. I feel really grateful to play for a team like that and play with a bunch of players who are selfless and enjoy the game in its purest form. They make it about the players, they make it about the environment, so it was really an easy choice.”

Durant’s former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Russell Westbrook has been questioned all summer about his feelings toward the 2014 NBA MVP since his departure. He has now seemingly grown tired of people trying to get a reaction from him.

According to Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman, Westbrook's response was short and sweet:

“That’s cute, man. That’s cute.”

Westbrook then told reporters that he wasn't interested in discussing the matter any further.

Heading into the 2016-17 season, many fans are predicting that Westbrook will enjoy the best year of his career so far, as he has been handed the proverbial keys to the Thunder's offense.
