New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl defensive end Cameron Jordan is one of the most determined and hard-working players in the entire NFL. It should not surprise you, then, if I told you that Jordan has been so focused on what he has to do for his team on the field and in the meeting rooms that he has not even put up his family's Christmas tree just yet. In fact, he has not even decorated his house…

He sat down, literally, with Nickelodeon to defend himself:

While the hardworking people out there will genuinely understand Jordan's lapse in Judgement, what are his kids gonna say? It is now three days before Christmas so maybe he has some time to make some Christmas magic and get his house into the spirit. All jokes aside, it is honorable that Cameron would take his time to speak honestly with the children reporters at Nickelodeon. It is that type of “un-grinch-like” behavior that has earned him the Saints' “Man of the Year” award each of the past two seasons.

Being chosen as the “Man of the Year” for your team means you are also nominated for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award, which honors–in their words– players who have “Exhibited excellence on the field, and whose passion to impact lives extends beyond the game.” The winner gets $250,000 that they can donate to the charity of their choice. The 31 other player nominees for the award get up to $40,000 donated to the charity of their choice.
