New Orleans Saints fans know the feeling of getting mad at the referees all too well. The team has been shafted with a lot of no-calls on their opponents recently. Fans will bitterly remember the blatantly obvious but somehow missed pass interference call during the Saints' 2018 NFC Championship Game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Well, recent data reveals that Saints fans aren't exactly crying foul over missed referees calls. An article by ESPN's Mike Triplett shows that over the past four years, New Orleans has inexplicably ranked at the bottom of the league in penalties called on their opponents. This is unprecedented data that will make every fan seethe with rage.

Ranking at the bottom of the NFL for penalties called on opponents isn't anything noteworthy on it's own. Once it becomes a continuous thing like what's happening with the Saints, it becomes a weird phenomenon. In a perfect world, no team should routinely get no-calls against them.

The best example of the refs missing a crucial call for the Saints was the aforementioned 2018 NFC Championship Game. Deep into Rams territory with less than two minutes left and a tie game, Drew Brees had a chance to score a game-winning field goal. On third and 7, a Rams player committed a blatant uncalled pass interference that would've given the Saints a first down and a chance to score at least three points.

It's unclear what the league or the Saints will do regarding this matter. Or if there's anything they can do in the first place. At the very least, fans will have ample data to fight with when calling for the refs' heads during their games.
