Bobby Wagner and Russell Wilson go way back. The two were in battles together, albeit on opposite sides of the field, during their years together as stalwarts of the Seattle Seahawks. That era of Seahawks football effectively ended as soon as reports came out that the team was sending Wilson to the Denver Broncos in a big trade last March.

Like Wilson, Wagner is now with a different team after getting released by the Seahawks and subsequently inking a five-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams worth $50 million. However, had Wilson had his way, Wagner might be teammates with the signal-caller again in Denver, with the linebacker revealing in a recent appearance on the on the Rich Eisen Show that Wilson tried to recruit him to Denver.

Via NFL reporter Dov Kleiman:

Bobby Wagner told @richeisen that Russell Wilson tried to recruit him to the Denver #Broncos while both players were still on the #Seahawks, before Wilson was traded away to the Broncos.

Even though Wilson's wish didn't materialize, there's still a chance he and Wagner will share the field again, and will likely be in a potential playoff matchup between their teams. The Rams are the reigning Super Bowl champions, while the Broncos just got a major shot in the arm with the addition of Wilson.
