Seattle Seahawks running back C.J. Prosise is facing an uphill battle. Not just to get touches, but to make the roster at all apparently. In his latest projection, Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times thinks Prosise will end up getting cut.

If that happens, it'll finish off a remarkably quick rise and fall for Prosise in Seattle. The Notre Dame product entered the league as a third-round pick back in 2016 and made an immediate splash as a rookie. He had a couple of monster games and was immediately hyped up as the next great Seahawks running back.

A fractured scapula quickly ended his rookie campaign, and he hasn't been able to stay healthy since. He only played in six games as a rookie, and only made five appearances each of the past two seasons. He's dealt with an unreal stretch of injuries, and the Seahawks have added plenty of talent at the position while he's been sidelined.

Things have passed him by, and he now appears to be the odd man out in the backfield. Condotta writes that first and foremost, “Prosise’s injury history can’t be ignored and obviously he has to stay healthy to make the team.” Condotta also thinks it could come down to Prosise and J.D. McKissic for the final running back spot.

In that scenario, “the nod might go to McKissic because of his return ability and overall dependability,” he writes. If Prosise were to be cut loose, he'd likely attract some interest on the open market. He only turned 25 a few weeks ago and has shown enough flashes when on the field to warrant another shot.
