Seattle Seahawks star quarterback Russell Wilson is doing everything he can to keep his body healthy and career safe, even if it costs him a lot of money.

During a recent appearance on The Ringer’s “Bill Simmons Podcast,” Wilson revealed he spends around $1 million a year on body recovery.

Via The New York Post:

“I have a whole performance team. I’ve got a whole group,” the Seahawks QB shared. “I’ve got a full-time trainer that travels with me everywhere, and works with [wife] Ciara, too.

“I have a full-time massage person. We have two chefs, we have a whole performance team. I do 365. The only time I don’t — I probably do 363. The reality is Christmas, depending on the circumstances, and usually, I do because usually have a game around then, and Thanksgiving.”

Russell Wilson signed a four-year, $140 million extension with the Seahawks last April and it has paid dividends, as his stellar play in 2020 has Seattle atop the NFC standings.

The Seahawks are 6-1 on the season and Wilson is playing like an MVP. He has 26 touchdown passes on the campaign and 2,151 passing yards.

Football is such a grueling sport on the body, so it makes sense that Wilson spends a ton of money on his physique.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James spends around $1.5 million on his body. The best athletes in the world understand that without an elite body, they can't perform at a superstar level in their respective sport.

Wilson and the Seahawks will look to improve to 7-1 on the season when they take on the Buffalo Bills in Week 9.
