The Seattle Seahawks won Thursday night's game but they might have suffered a big loss with starting right guard DJ Fluker leaving the game early with a hamstring injury.

He left after the Seahawks second series and never returned to the game. Second-year player Jamarco Jones filled in for him and he did a decent job, but if Fluker is out for an extended period of time, that will be a big loss.

Jones has switched between guard and tackle and it impressed coach Pete Carroll how well prepared Jones was coming into the game.

“He’s been preparing to do this,” Carroll said via the Seattle Times. “.. not a lot because he’s playing tackle all the time, too. He’s splitting time. But that’s a great illustration of him. … he got the job done in fantastic fashion.

Jones and the rest of the offense were spectacular against the Rams but it was quarterback Russell Wilson who stole the show. After the game Carroll had nothing but a glowing review for his quarterback who many believe is the frontrunner at this point for the MVP.

“I thought that Russ — he stole the show tonight as he did so much. … (he) played one of the best games I’ve seen him play,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said via the USA Today. “I’ve just never seen him, speaking of magic, all of the plays he came up with his legs, running for one, but also, not to just to get out of trouble, but to find the receivers and make the throws just one after another.”

The win moved to the Seahawks to 4-1 and into second place behind the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC West.
