Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin has not seen much action throughout the offseason due to a sore knee. Fortunately, he plans to be on the field for the start of the 2018 NFL season.

Baldwin indicated he will be ready for the season opener against the Denver Broncos. However, according to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, he does not expect his knee to be 100 percent for the whole year:

Doug Baldwin talked to media for first time since he was sidelined to deal with a knee issue. Said he'll play next week but said his knee is something he will have to manage all season.

Baldwin's update is rather bittersweet. Although the Seahawks are delighted to have their top wideout out on the field, the fact he does not expect to be fully healthy is certainly a cause for concern.

While he is vastly underrated, Baldwin is one of the best receivers in the league. Quarterback Russell Wilson is poised to rely on him now more than ever amidst all the changes Seattle made this offseason.

Of course, it is not unusual for players to go an entire season with some kind of lingering injury. However, the Seahawks may have to weigh their options with Baldwin moving forward.

The verdict is still out on what to expect from Seattle this season. If things do not go as planned, it would not make much sense for them to have Baldwin play and risk further injury for nothing. In the meantime, they are hoping Baldwin will be able to maintain his high level of play.
