The Seattle Seahawks are treading quite lightly with star wide receiver Doug Baldwin dealing with a knee injury that has limited his availability over the last few weeks.

The extent of the injury has been revealed as he's working his way through a Grade 2 partial MCL tear that has his status moving forward this season, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

There had been a previous report that Baldwin would miss just one week with the injury, but this latest news could see that extend much further than just a game absence as it's a situation that could worsen if not handled correctly, especially given he has a partial tear that could see his availability for the  rest of the season be in jeopardy.

Baldwin was able to take the field for a few plays on Sunday against the Denver Broncos going without a single target in the passing game. This led to star quarterback Russell Wilson to lean on wide receivers Tyler Lockett and Brandon Marshall along with tight end Will Dissly, who all each hauled in a touchdown reception.

The 29-year-old had already indicated that this injury would linger on all season long, which comes down to pain tolerance from his end of things. The Seahawks are hoping to count on him as being the leading option in the passing game as he has emerged as one of the most consistently productive wideouts in the league over the last three years with at least 75 catches and 950-plus receiving yards that helped him earn his second straight Pro Bowl selection. It had also marked the fifth time in his first seven seasons that he has led the Seahawks in receiving yards. This is something that the team will continue to monitor closely over the next few weeks in order to keep him in the fold.
