The Seattle Seahawks are set to have star safety Earl Thomas in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, per Ian Rapoport and Steve Wyche of NFL Network.

Thomas was a notable absentee for the Seahawks’ practice on Friday due to personal reasons. Coach Pete Carroll said he was unsure Thomas would be able to play on Sunday. But the safety returned to participate in the team’s walk-through on Saturday which led the way toward his availability.

It will be an interesting sight to see Thomas playing against the Cowboys, especially given everything that went down surrounding the star safety this offseason. Thomas famously held out due to his contract situation. This led to constant speculation about a possible trade to the Cowboys, his favorite team. In last season’s meeting with the Cowboys, Thomas famously told Dallas to come get him.

The Cowboys have indeed expressed interest in acquiring Thomas, but the Seahawks have set a high price for the All-Pro safety that Dallas has been unwilling to meet.

There’s still time for the two teams to come to some sort of agreement on a deal for Thomas. But for the time being, Thomas remains a member of the Seahawks, and he will look to help the team get its first win of the season after they lost their first two games to the Broncos and Bears.
