Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas finally decided to end his holdout and reported to the team Wednesday. However, he’s not showing up because he’s patched up his messy contract situation with the team.

In a post on his Instagram account, Thomas said he will not forget the “disrespect” he’s received from the Seahawks throughout this whole ordeal.

“I worked my whole life for this….. I’ve never let me teammates, city or fans down as long as I’ve lived and don’t plan on starting this weekend. With that being said, the disrespect has been well noted and will not be forgotten. Father Time may have an undefeated record but best believe I plan on taking him into triple overtime when it comes to my career.”

Thomas, who is in the final year of his deal with Seattle, had previously indicated that if the Seahawks weren’t willing to offer him a new contract, that he wanted them to trade him to a team that was open to giving him a long-term deal.

However, the Seahawks have not accommodated either of Thomas' requests. They have not seemed at all interested in offering Thomas a contract extension. Meanwhile, they have rebuffed trade offers for the star safety, particularly from the Dallas Cowboys, who still had their improved bid of a second-round pick for Thomas turned down.

Given how Thomas' entire situation has played out, it’s looking very likely that his relationship with the Seahawks has been irreparably damaged and that this year will almost certainly be his last in Seattle. But after seeing how shabbily the Seahawks have treated one of their all-time great players, it's hard to blame Thomas for feeling the way he does.
