The Seattle Seahawks will need to find a way or ways to replace Frank Clark on the defense. Earlier this offseason, the Seahawks signed Ezekiel Ansah to help fill the void left by Clark.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Ansah is expected to be on the active roster to start training camp. Ansah is still nursing a shoulder injury he suffered in 2018 with the Detroit Lions.

That expectation became a reality when Seattle opened camp and a video surfaced of Ansah doing some work to start camp.

Earlier this offseason, Ansah received surgery on his shoulder before deciding to sign with the Seahawks. Seattle will need Ansah after trading Frank Clark to the Kansas City Chiefs. Therefore, they will likely be cautious with their free-agent acquisition as they want him to be ready for the regular season.

Before joining Seattle, Ansah played with the Lions from 2013-2018. In his six seasons in Detroit, Ansah had two seasons with 12 or more sacks—including 14.5 sacks in 2015.

Over the past few seasons, injuries have begun to catch up to Ansah, whether it be his knee or shoulder. Now, the veteran pass rusher is changing jerseys for the first time in his career while he tries to get back to being one-hundred percent.

If the Seahawks can get a healthy version of Ansah, their pass-rush should be decent. Along with Ansah, Seattle also drafted L.J. Collier in this year's draft to bulk up their defensive front.

Unfortunately, one of the team's sack leaders from 2018 in Jarran Reed is suspended for the first six games of the season. Reed had 10.5 sacks in 2018 and was beginning to flash his potential as a dominant force on the defensive line.

Nonetheless, the Seahawks have reported to training camp and Ansah figures to see some light work as he gets ready for the 2019 season.
