Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider made a huge splash over the weekend en route to officially acquiring Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams from the New York Jets. As a result of the massive move for the Seahawks, Seattle head coach Pete Carroll recently made a point to praise Schneider for his role in making such a deal come together.

Adams previously requested a trade away from the Jets while the Seahawks were reportedly on his list of desired destinations alongside some additional franchises like the Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers and Houston Texans — among others.

With the Seahawks managing to acquire a player like Adams, Seattle is now right in the thick of the NFC West race alongside the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers, both of which got significantly better this offseason. Even though the Los Angeles Rams are also in the fold as the organization reached a Super Bowl not too long ago, the trio of the Seahawks, Cardinals, and 49ers are now sitting quite pretty as the 2020 campaign looms large.

As Adams becomes the Seahawks' biggest haul of the offseason, the Cardinals added former Houston Texans All-Pro wideout DeAndre Hopkins with the 49ers producing not one but two first-round NFL Draft picks this past spring. Not only that, but the 49ers represented the NFC in last season's Super Bowl, which came just after San Francisco won the NFC West division during the 2019 regular season.

The NFC West division is now cemented as arguably the toughest in the entire NFL with the month of August right around the corner.
