Could Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin have played his last down in the NFL? It's looking like that is a distinct possibility.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider says that Baldwin is considering retirement due to the excessive amount of injuries he has suffered over his years of playing football:

“Considering it, yeah. But there's a process to go through with that,” Schneider said, according to Curtis Crabtree of 950 AM KJR. “”We know Doug is going to have a hard time. There's a process that we need to go through with Doug. At that point with D.K. (Metcalf) that didn't really weigh in. There's still several doggone good receivers on the board so we're working our way through that.”

Baldwin has undergone three surgeries this offseason, having procedures done on his knees and shoulder while also having surgery done to address a sports hernia.

No one knows for sure if the 30-year-old is done just yet, but Schneider is giving Baldwin some space:

“Just trust us, there's a process. We're trying to respect Doug as much as we can,” Schneider said. “… He's at a point in his career where he's considering a lot of things. Once you get there, there's a lot of different ways. There's stuff with the league office, with the union that we need to work through with him.”

Baldwin is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he played 13 games and hauled in 50 receptions for 618 yards and five touchdowns, his least productive season since 2012.

The Gulf Breeze, Fl. native has spent his entire eight-year career in Seattle, making two Pro Bowl appearances.
