Fans of the Seattle Seahawks have begun the “Let Russ Cook” movement this offseason due to the team's reluctancy to let Russell Wilson air the ball more often. Even though he's been coy on the topic in recent seasons, Wilson admitted he wants the ball in his hands more in 2020:

“The reality is I just want to win,” Wilson said on Thursday when asked about the “Let Russ Cook” movement, via Joe Fann of NBC Sports.

There's no doubt that Wilson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. However, with the Seahawks basing their offense around running the football, Wilson is seemingly held back by his lack of passing attempts. While he wants to win games by any means, Wilson would love to be more aggressive on offense:

“At the end of the day I want the ball in my hands,” Wilson said. “I want to be able to make plays and give us a chance to win. That doesn’t mean just me chucking it around, but I feel like the more times I have the ball in my hands, the more things that can happen. I think the defense worries about that, too.”

Last season, Wilson finished with 516 pass attempt for the Seahawks, which was the 13th most in the NFL. Furthermore, just the season prior, the Pro Bowl signal-caller had just 427 attempts (20th in the NFL). Nevertheless, he's extremely efficient when he is given a chance to throw.

Even though the Seahawks have had success in previous years being a run-oriented team, they could be even more dangerous if Wilson put the ball in the air more. If Seattle listens to their fans when it comes to Wilson, opposing defenses better watch out.
