The Seattle Seahawks must be excited that they somehow swindled Jadeveon Clowney from the Houston Texans for a low price of a third-round pick and linebackers Barkevious Mingo and Jacob Martin. Their franchise quarterback Russell Wilson joined the excitement up in the Pacific North West, as he took to Twitter to state his thoughts on the team's newest addition.

In the tweet, Wilson said:

Me: So you telling me you’re not chasing me anymore?

Clowney : “Nah bro…all other QBs”

Me: okay we’re cool we’re cool..

Welcome to the squad bro!

Somehow, Wilson didn't add his usual “Go Hawks” to the tweet, but it should be evident that he's excited to add one of the NFL's most terrifying forces for a low price. It was initially speculated that the Seahawks might've lost one of Wilson's offensive linemen — as Houston needs help there. Instead, his offense is the exact same as it was before the trade while the defense lost depth and added a three-time Pro Bowler.

Clowney got off to a slow start in his career after being the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. But, in the last three seasons, he was a game wrecker down in Houston. As previously noted, he's been to three straight Pro Bowls. In 2018, he tallied nine sacks, 47 combined tackles, 21 quarterback hits, and 16 tackles for loss while missing one game.

The Seahawks won't be able to lock up Clowney to a long-term deal until after the regular season ends. He's on the franchise tag and the deadline to work out an extension on it passed on July 15th. But, even if he's a rental, Wilson will be able to watch a much-improved defense in 2019.
