Thanks to nagging injuries, veteran NFL wide receiver Doug Baldwin is no longer a member of the Seattle Seahawks. With the NFC West franchise parting with Baldwin earlier in the offseason, current Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett fully understands he will now play a much bigger role in Seattle.

However, Lockett also understands that Baldwin taught him a ton of invaluable lessons before ultimately having to call it a career in the Pacific Northwest.

“The biggest thing that I learned when it comes to Doug is you have to be yourself,” Lockett recently told the team's official website. “I have to be able to understand who I am as a leader and what I bring to the team as a leader. The things that he brought, I was able to learn from that and I was able to see that. But he also taught me how to be myself, because if I can’t be myself, everybody else won’t be able to accept the message that I’m trying to allow them to be able to receive. So I have to be able to speak from a willing heart.”

Although Lockett began to emerge as a legitimate threat for the Seahawks and veteran quarterback Russell Wilson over the course of the last several seasons, it wasn't until 2018 that the up-and-comer truly proved his worth. With Baldwin encountering a limited role due to injury, the 26-year-old Lockett broke out, scoring a single-season career-high 10 touchdowns over the course of 16 regular-season games.
