Earl Thomas is one of the only remaining members of the Seattle Seahawks' star-studded defense from a few years back. Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor are gone, leaving Thomas as the only member of the secondary to remain from the “Legion of Boom” era. Over the past few months, there have been talks about him potentially leaving as well.

Throughout the majority of the offseason, the Seahawks were very open to the idea of trading Thomas. Jerry Jones' Dallas Cowboys were widely viewed as the front-runner to acquire him. Nothing ended up happening when everything was said and done.

Rumors have come out more recently that Thomas could still be on the trade block. There is a current known asking price for Thomas as well.

According to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Seahawks are “stuck” on a second-round asking price for their star safety. Thomas is well worth a second round pick for any team needing an upgrade at the safety position.

Throughout the first three weeks of the season with the Seahawks, Thomas has already shown why he is worth a second round pick. He has racked up 18 tackles to go along with three interceptions and four defended passes.

Seattle doesn't want to make a move with Thomas just to move on from the proud era of defense. Thomas is still 29 years old and has plenty of football left to be played. Any team that picks him up will be very happy that they did.

Expect to hear some rumors about Thomas in trade discussions leading up to the NFL trade deadline. He may end up sticking the season out with Seattle, but it would not be shocking if he was moved.
