The Orlando Magic received good news on Tuesday afternoon as the MRI done on the knee of their biggest acquisition this summer, Serge Ibaka, showed no structural damage.

The development makes him available for their first preseason game on Wednesday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers as tweeted by Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel:

The 6-foot-10 forward has been experiencing knee soreness which has caused him to miss the start of training camp. Now that he is expected to suit up at the Quicken Loans Arena against the LeBron James-led Cavs, it will still be surprising to see him play a lot of minutes. The Magic would be wise to give the three-time All-Defensive First Team member some extra rest and hope that the condition of his knee will continue to improve.

After trading for Ibaka's services during draft night, the Magic are optimistic that he will fit right in to their system and the team wants him to be their defensive anchor. Together with rising star Nikola Vucevic and the improving Bismack Biyombo, the Magic will have one of the most intimidating frontlines in the league today.
