The investigation surrounding Philadelphia 76ers president Bryan Colangelo is one that has caught most league insiders perplexed due to its aberrant nature.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski found himself in disbelief upon reading The Ringer's investigative piece, which mentioned a series of details that suggest only an executive of Colangelo's caliber would have access to such type of information.

Woj described that part of his disbelief emanates from fathoming an executive in Colangelo's position could be so “thin-skinned” to feel the need to go out on social media and confront what others are saying about his team, but this isn't exactly news for some of Colangelo's former colleagues, namely the ones that worked with him during his stint with the Toronto Raptors.

Per Michael Grange of SportsNet:

“Those that have worked closely with Colangelo can see some of their colleague in the scandal. Thin-skinned is an adjective that gets tossed his way often.

According to multiple sources, he was known to be hyper-aware of what was being written and said about the Raptors and his own performance during his time with Toronto. Navigating Colangelo through some of his frustrations about unfavourable coverage was part of the job description if you worked with the Raptors when Colangelo was president.”

This certainly doesn't paint Colangelo as an innocent man, already having a reputation for wanting to control the narrative around him.

But that is the least of his problems. His alleged burner accounts tweets mentioned very sensitive medical information, which could result in several HIPAA violations and the chance of him never seeing a job in the NBA's executive ranks ever again if found guilty of the allegations.
