Joel Embiid's partner, Anne de Paula, is Brazilian, so the Philadelphia 76ers star naturally rooted for Brazil in the Copa America final. However, with Argentina coming out as winners of the contest, the Sixers big man couldn't help but be happy for Lionel Messi.

After watching Argentina win 1-0, Embiid shared a rather hyped reaction for Messi, whom he considers the GOAT of football.

In a follow-up tweet, the Sixers All-Star shared that while he was hoping for Brazil to win, there is no doubt Messi deserves the victory.

Before Saturday's victory, Lionel Messi had not won any trophy for the Argentina national team. As much success he has had with Barcelona throughout his career, he just wasn't able to deliver for the national team.

However, that changes now as La Albiceleste have finally added a silverware in the Messi era. Angel Di Maria scored the lone goal that won the game for the nation, but Messi's sacrifices and desire to win for the country certainly did not go unnoticed.

Just like the Sixers center who was so ecstatic for Messi, the rest of Argentina was just as hyped if not more. Following the win, Messi's teammates celebrated by tossing him in the air.
