The Philadelphia 76ers are ready to turn over a new leaf with the arrival of former Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey, who will now serve as the team's president. While many are naturally wondering if Morey will bring his revolutionary micro-ball style featuring gobs of 3-pointers with him from the Rockets to the Sixers, he says that won't be the case.

Instead, the new Sixers president will aim to maximize having a dominant All-Star big man like Joel Embiid at the helm. Morey even brought up another dominant center when talking about Embiid's usage.

Via Bryan Toporek of Forbes:

“The goal is to not shoot three-pointers, the goal is to win,” Morey added later. “You can score on offense in a whole bunch of different ways. Joel happens to be one of the most efficient post-up players in the league.

“I used to get the question in Houston, ‘What would you do if you had Shaq?' And my answer was: ‘I would give Shaq the ball about 100 times a game.' Joel is a talent on both ends. We played the way we played in Houston because that was the best way to utilize the talents we had in Houston.”

Under Morey, the Rockets led the NBA in both 3-point attempts and isolation possessions on offense over the past few seasons. With a relentless scorer like James Harden armed with a nearly unguardable step-back jump shot, Morey entrusted the Arizona State product with a league-leading usage rate in two of the past three seasons and allowed him to serve as the main focal point of the Rockets' offense since arriving in 2012.

The skill set of the players Morey had in Houston compared to what he currently has now in Philly is completely different. Morey will aim to build a system around the players' capabilities instead in order for them to reach their full potential and ultimately bring a championship back to the historic franchise. Under the new regime of Morey, expect Joel Embiid to get more touches and play an even bigger role for the Sixers in the coming seasons.
