While the NBA has been largely dominated by superstar guards and smaller players, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is showing the world that big men are not extinct and are only going to rise in the future.

As Embiid plays his 300th regular season game on Friday, he also becomes one of 10 players to average 25 points and 10 rebounds in that span. Even more amazing, he is just the second player to do so after Shaquille O'Neal since the NBA-ABA merger in 1976-77, per ESPN.

Entering the contest against the Dallas Mavericks, Joel Embiid has career averages of 25.4 points, 11.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists with the Sixers. He has been really efficient his entire career, recording a 48.8 percent shooting clip from the field–including 33.2 percent from deep.

This kind of production and milestone is not surprising for Embiid, though, especially as he continues to be a dominant force over the last few years. He was an MVP candidate in 2020-21, and he picked up where he left off from last season with another MVP-caliber display so far this 2021-22.

Embiid has the Sixers climbing to third in the Eastern Conference amid the continued drama with Ben Simmons, and with the way he is playing, he could very well win the highest individual award when this campaign is done.
