Joel Embiid is officially on notice from the NBA for his most recent antics against the Detroit Pistons and Andre Drummond. An Embiid flop led to Drummond's ejection despite the fact that there was minimal contact on the play.

The league is trying to decrease flopping, and Embiid's work Tuesday certainly qualifies as flopping. Drummond barely made contact with Embiid before the Sixers' outspoken big man acted as if he was punched in the face and fell to the floor.

The acting was typical Embiid and forced a crucial ejection in a close contest. It's not what you want to see if you're a basketball fan, but it's the type of baiting and trolling that Embiid is becoming synonymous with.

But Embiid probably had the wrong player ejected. Blake Griffin put Embiid in his place with a backbreaking and-1 to tie the game up with the basket and put the Pistons ahead with the free throw. Embiid couldn't convert on a 3-point attempt at the buzzer, so the Pistons had the last laugh, though ironically enough Griffin's bucket shouldn't have counted due to a missed call.

Now that the league is watching Embiid, he'll have to be careful about his flopping or risk a possible fine. The mind games he plays with his opponents is part of what makes him great, but it's hard to root for him sometimes when he's doing these stunts.

Hopefully, Embiid takes this warning from the league and tones it down moving forward. We all want to see Joel Embiid and all his trash-talking, but he can leave the flopping behind.
