The injury woes continue for the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers were already without Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons for Sunday afternoon's clash with the Los Angeles Clippers, and they suffered another injury blow when Josh Richardson left the game with a nose contusion after colliding with teammate Alec Burks.

Now, Derek Bodner of The Athletic is reporting Richardson has suffered a concussion and will subsequently enter the NBA's concussion protocol for further evaluation.

Richardson scored nine points on 4-of-6 shooting prior to exiting the contest. The Sixers got a Herculean performance out of former G Leaguer Shake Milton — who scored 39 points on 7-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc — but it was not enough as the Clippers held on for a 136-130 victory.

This is devastating news for the Sixers. After all, Simmons' timetable is unknown as he continues to deal with a lower back injury that will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Richardson has struggled at times offensively, but he has been immensely valuable to the Sixers as a versatile wing who can guard multiple positions and space the floor. Now, Philly will have to go into scramble mode.

Milton figures to be a rotational mainstay after Sunday's outstanding performance, but the likes of Furkan Korkmaz, Mike Scott, Burks and Glenn Robinson III all figure to see increased minutes as head coach Brett Brown tries to navigate the storm.

Of course, there is a chance Josh Richardson will be cleared in short order. But head injuries are not something to be taken lightly, and the Sixers need to adjust to the reality that he could miss some time.
