Former NBA star Metta World Peace is known to many as a bold and daring player. He is popular for his rugged style of play and his not shying away from voicing out bold statements as well as predictions off the court.

On Twitter, World Peace let the people know how he thinks highly of Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, predicting that the Sixers center will win the Most Valuable Player award this coming 2018-19 season.

This is just days after the player formerly known as Ron Artest made a very bold statement that next season's Eastern Conference finals will feature the Indiana Pacers and the New York Knicks, two teams that he had played for. The Pacers have a legitimate chance. The Knicks… not so much.

To give World Peace the benefit of the doubt, however, Embiid is very quickly rising up the ranks as one of the NBA's best players. He might already be the best big man in the NBA with his multi-dimensional array of offensive skills as well as his ability to be an absolute defensive anchor on that end.

The Sixers superstar was selected as a starter in his first appearance as an All-Star last February. With career-best averages of 22.9 points, 11 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.8 blocks, Embiid was also included in the 2017-18 All-NBA Second Team. As an icing on the cake, the young big man was selected to last season's NBA All-Defensive Second Team.

Embiid will become the leader of a young Sixers team craving for postseason success. They exceeded expectations last year when they finished the season with a record of 52-30, snatching the 3rd seed in the playoffs. They made it through the second round of the postseason, only to lose to a very impressive Boston Celtics team.
