The Philadelphia 76ers have reportedly given general manager Elton Brand the green light to do everything he could to re-sign Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris this summer. Both players were acquired by the team through trades last season and have helped the team become one of the best in the Eastern Conference.

However, the Sixers are making it clear that they are going to prioritize Butler over Harris in free agency. According to reports, Philly is prepared to offer the former All-Star a five-year max contract.

“I put it at 99 percent Philly is coming with a five-year max. I'm pretty comfortable on that,” said MacMahon.

Jackie MacMullan interjected that she's heard the 76ers are prioritizing Butler over Tobias Harris.

This shouldn't come as a surprise. Butler has been one of the most consistent Sixers players this season. He also led the team in the playoffs, particularly in the second round, when the Sixers faced the Toronto Raptors. Jimmy stood toe-to-toe with eventual Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard on the offensive end.

Butler averaged 18.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists for the Sixers last season.

On the other hand, Harris struggled for the Sixers in the postseason. He set the franchise's record for most missed 3-pointers in the playoffs; and his abysmal shooting is one of the biggest reasons why Philly lost to Toronto.

Still, the Sixers are keeping their faith in Harris. However, if things come down to choosing between him and Butler, it's safe to say that we already know the answer.
