Ben Simmons' trade saga with the Philadelphian 76ers continues, and if recent rumors are to be believed, his agent Rich Paul remains firm in wanting him out of Philly.

Paul recently met with Sixers president Daryl Morey and GM Elton Brand to discuss the future of Simmons with the team. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Klutch Sports boss highlighted Ben's mental health issues as the reason for his inability to return to play with the franchise.

For what it's worth, though, Simmons hasn't changed his mind about his trade demand as he seeks a fresh start elsewhere.

Per Woj on ESPN:

Paul told the Sixers that Simmons' mental health hurdles continue to preclude him from a return to play with the team, and the desire for a trade out of Philadelphia remains in place, sources said.

It remains to be seen what the Sixers end up doing. They have Ben Simmons under contract until the 2024-25 season, and by the looks of it, they are more than willing to hold out as long as they can. They are open to trading the wantaway Aussie, but they want the max value they can get and are not willing to compromise.

As for Simmons, he really can't do anything to have complete control of his situation. He can opt to play and perhaps help the Sixers increase his trade value, but it doesn't seem he still wants to put on the Philadelphia jersey ever again.

Rich Paul is no newbie to forcing players out of their teams–a big example of which is Anthony Davis–but he has certainly found his match on Morey who is not budging.
