Joel Embiid isn't having the best start to the season thus far. The Philadelphia 76ers center was blunt in that he thinks the new Wilson ball that the NBA is using this year has played a huge part in that.

The Sixers star bared his frustrations on the Wilson ball after their hard-fought victory against the Chicago Bulls.

Via Rich Hoffman:

“I'm always looking for excuses but the ball is different,” said the Sixers star. “Still don't totally feel comfortable with it. It's a process but every single day I work hard. I make those shots in practice. Last year, I was probably the best midrange jumper in the league. So some point it's gonna come back.”

Philadelphia won the contest against Chicago, 103-98. But Joel Embiid largely struggled to put the ball in the basket, making just six of his 18 takes from the field for just 18 points. It's never a good sign when your attempts match your point total.

Pressed further for his thoughts on the Wilson ball, the Sixers big man couldn't describe what exactly the difference is that has confounded both him and a handful of NBA stars around the league.

“I don't know. It's just different. Obviously, he's not struggling with it,” Embiid said laughing while pointing to Seth Curry as he just entered the room. “There's only a few of us, but for me it's a huge difference.”

Sixers star Joel Embiid isn't the first to speak out against the Wilson ball. Paul George was vocal on how it was the culprit behind several star's struggles. The NBA is in talks with Wilson to fix whatever issues there are with the ball, but until then players will just have to adjust accordingly
