Philadelphia 76ers rookie Markelle Fultz is inching closer to his return to the team after over two months out due to a shoulder injury. The No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft is back on the court and practicing, which is good.

But according to Andrew Porter of CBS Philly, the rookie’s shot still doesn’t look quite right. From some videos taken of Fultz’s workout, his jumper still appears to have a bit of a hitch to it.

A lot was made earlier in the season about Markelle Fultz suddenly showing up with a completely different form on his jump shot. It was later determined that he had been struggling with a shoulder injury, which caused him to be shut down for quite some time. There were conflicting reports afterward as to what exactly went down with the Sixers rookie's shoulder and whether his altered form caused the injury or if it was the other way around.

But while Markelle Fultz’s stroke in the videos didn’t quite seem as smooth as the one he had in college, it might be best to take a more patient view of Fultz's progress as opposed to making definitive conclusions based off a few seconds during a practice session. After all, he is still likely working out the kinks after a couple of months out of the action.

If that shot still doesn’t look right – and more importantly, doesn’t go in – several weeks or months after his return, though, then it would probably be time to start worrying more seriously about 2017's top overall pick.
