As the saying goes, third time's the charm. On Sunday, the Chicago Sky finally overcame the Indiana Fever in a clash that went down to the wire. The final score was 88-87 in favor of the blue shirts, and it wouldn't have been possible without Angel Reese's big game. The rookie tallied a monster double-double of 25 points (career high) and 16 rebounds to lead the Sky to their second straight win. Many took notice of her performance, including NBA legend Dwayne Wade.

On X, the former Miami Heat superstar put out posts that show how he's in full support of Reese and the Chi-Town squad.

Considering Wade's Chicago roots, it's not surprising how he cheers for the Sky; the Hall of Famer was born and raised in the Windy City. He even played for the Bulls during the 2016-17 season, suiting up alongside the likes of Jimmy Butler and Rajon Rondo.

Witnessing Sunday's game was surely a visual treat for Dwayne Wade and other Chicago sports fans, as the Sky pulled off a late-game comeback after being down by double-digits in the fourth.

The score was close in the first two periods, with neither team breaking away. That all changed in the third, when the Fever went on a run led by Kelsey Mitchell to give them an eight-point cushion entering the final quarter. With 7:12 remaining in the fourth, a Caitlin Clark three-pointer stretched the lead to 12 points…then Angel Reese took over.

The forward spearheaded the Sky's comeback by scoring 10 points in the game's final six and a half minutes. This was highlighted by her layup on Nalyssa Smith to give Chicago the lead with 53 seconds remaining. Alongside Reese, center Kamilla Cardoso and guard Chennedy Carter were also essential in the Sky's late-game rally.

Following Reese's layup, free throws extended Chicago's lead to four with 27.1 left on the clock. Fever forward Aaliyah Boston then sank a three to cut it down to one. The Sky failed to convert free throws, giving Indiana a chance to win on the final possession. However, the Fever missed two attempts in the final seconds, giving the victory to Chicago.

Besides Reese, Carter (23 points, 5 assists) and Cardoso (16 points, 10 rebounds) also showed out. The Sky may still have a below .500 record, but winning two games in a row is a good sign of momentum moving forward. And looking at the show Angel Reese put on, the Rookie of the Year race just became even more closely contested.
