Jack Grealish almost had a mishap during Manchester City's open-top bus parade on Sunday, but quick reflexes from his teammates saved the day.
Despite a 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup Final the day before, Manchester City still had plenty to celebrate. Pep Guardiola’s team made history by winning the Premier League title for the fourth year in a row. They clinched the title by defeating West Ham 3-1 on the season's final day, narrowly beating rivals Arsenal.
To mark their latest achievement, City’s players and staff took the Premier League trophy on a tour across Manchester, greeting thousands of excited fans. The parade was filled with joyful moments, similar to last year's celebrations when City had won a historic treble.
Jack Grealish, the 28-year-old England star, was once again a standout figure during the festivities. Known for his exuberant celebrations, Grealish had famously enjoyed a three-day party before last year’s title parade. This year, however, his celebration included a couple of scary moments.
Numerous videos circulated on social media showed Grealish dancing with his hands in the air as he basked in the fans' applause. However, as the bus suddenly moved after a stop, Grealish almost fell off. Fortunately, his teammate Jeremy Doku quickly caught him and guided him back to safety.

Other Manchester City stars, including Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne, enjoyed the parade. Phil Foden, named Footballer of the Year, expressed his delight over another successful season. He said, “It’s been a special season. Nobody has done it before, it’s an unbelievable season. The hunger inside me and the great players we have make us want to win more next season.”
Despite a tough season, Grealish was named in Gareth Southgate’s preliminary squad for Euro 2024. Although he played only ten minutes in City’s last five games and was an unused substitute in the FA Cup Final, Guardiola expressed confidence in Grealish’s return to form. “He will be back,” Guardiola said. “He’s struggled this season, and Jeremy has made an incredible step forward as everyone has seen in the last games. But Jack will be back at the level of last season, I'm pretty sure.”
The parade was a testament to Manchester City’s dominance and the strong bond between the players and their fans. As they celebrated their fourth consecutive Premier League title, the Cityzens looked forward to future victories, driven by the relentless spirit that has become their hallmark.
