Barring a major change of plans in the coming month, Paulo Dybala will leave Juventus at the conclusion of this season. The Argentine forward had been in contract extension talks with club officials, but after months of negotiating, no deal was reached between the two.

In speaking ahead of Juventus’ 2022 Coppa Italia Final clash against Inter Milan, club vice president Pavel Nedved touched on just why Dybala is set to leave the side as a free agent. In the big picture, Nedved noted that the forward's demands were “very high.”

“It's not easy to say what went wrong with his renewal,” Nedved told SportMediaSet. “We evaluated him on all aspects, both on and off the pitch. His demands were very high and rightly so because he is a strong player. We didn't feel like it and therefore the roads parted.”

Dybala’s contract situation was a notable talking point revolving around the club for much of this season. Both sides were quite confident that an agreement would be reached on an extension deal.

The Argentine forward noted in September that he aspired to stay put at the Bianconeri, while Nedved mentioned that the club aimed to finalize such an agreement with the forward “very soon.”

In the end, the two sides failed to sign off on a new deal, although they held multiple meetings in an effort to avoid a fallout.

Dybala has been linked with Inter Milan for a free transfer move in the summer window, but it remains to be seen whether any other clubs will make a push to sign him to such a deal.
