In this year’s free agency, Otto Porter Jr. has emerged as one of the most coveted names. He drew serious attention from a number of teams, but will ultimately remain with the Washington Wizards, after they matched the four year, $106 million offer sheet given to him by the Brooklyn Nets. However, not everyone thinks highly of him, and some don’t even see him as an All-Star caliber player.

That was the case when some scouts were asked to give their thoughts on the 24-year-old Georgetown product during the Orlando Summer League, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post. They were even straightforward in saying that they believe Porter will not make the All-Star team ever in his career.

This past season, Porter established himself as arguably the most important player in the Wizards' lineup outside of John Wall and Bradley Beal. He also had a solid campaign, with career-high averages of 13.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. That turned out to be more than enough reason for his team to make sure he’ll continue playing for the D.C. team, and help them in their quest to compete for a championship.

The opinions of the scouts may not be the best Porter has heard about his game, but if he can play even better next season, he will have the chance to silence his doubters, and prove to everyone that he is worth every penny in his contract. Given the depleted star power in the East, an All-Star nod shouldn't be a pipe dream.
