DeMar DeRozan became the first player in franchise history to put up at least 25 points and 10 assists while shooting 90% or better from the floor. The San Antonio Spurs star was also the 15th player in NBA history to record that feat.
DeRozan and the Spurs destroyed the Memphis Grizzlies with clinical efficiency, shooting 67.4% from the floor as a team, along with a blistering 62.5% from deep.
The Compton native only needed 29 minutes to post 26 points, three rebounds, 10 assists, and three steals, recording a plus-31 in a 30-point win over Memphis on Monday.
The 30-year-old is shooting a career-high 50.9% from the floor after reverting to being a reluctant outside shooter since coming to the Spurs last season.
The Spurs have only played nine games this month, but they have seen their share of battles, going to war in five overtime periods during a four-game stretch earlier this month. San Antonio survived a double-overtime showdown against the Houston Rockets, beat the Sacramento Kings in a squeaker, lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers and then beat the Phoenix Suns by two — giving the fans a dose of extra basketball in four straight games at the AT&T Center.
They'll finish the year with a road game against the Dallas Mavericks and home matchups against the Detroit Pistons and the Golden State Warriors to wrap up 2019.
