7-foot Lithuanian big man Donatas Motiejunas' deal with the San Antonio Spurs continues to hang in the balance, with a recent report stating that the 28-year-old has been having problems securing a visa to play in the United States:

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the signing of Motiejunas by the Spurs, but as it stands, the former Houston Rockets big man has yet to join his new team.

Prior to signing with the Spurs, Motiejunas was putting up some big numbers in the Chinese Basketball Association with the Shandong Golden Stars, averaging 27.3 points (on 55.1 percent shooting), 14.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.9 blocks in 37 appearances.

Motiejunas first entered the NBA back in 2011 when he was drafted by the Minneosta Timberwolves with the 20th overall pick. He was subsequently moved to the Houston Rockets as part of the deal that sent Chandler Parsons in the opposite direction.

Motiejunas would play four seasons with the Rockets before the team released him in late 2016 following a bizarre contract dispute. There was also a rescinded trade to the Detroit Pistons because of a failed physical during his stint in Houston.

The big man then signed with the New Orleans Pelicans shortly after the Rockets renounced his rights, where he would make a total of 34 appearances off the bench, averaging just 4.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.5 steals in 14.1 minutes per contest.

The Spurs have turned to Motiejunas as an additional piece for their frontcourt entering the playoffs. However, it is unlikely that he will be given enough minutes to make a significant impact for the team, and will be serving more of a reserve role for San Antonio. That is, of course, assuming that his visa issues are resolved.
