San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich won't offer New Orleans Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry advice on how to handle superstar big man Anthony Davis' trade request.

To recall, Popovich had to deal with Kawhi Leonard's trade request last summer. The Spurs traded Leonard to the Toronto Raptors.

There were rumors circulating that Gregg Popovich was telling Alvin Gentry to not send Anthony Davis to his preferred destination, the Los Angeles Lakers. When Leonard requested his trade last summer, the two-time Defensive Player of the Year reportedly wanted to be traded to the Clippers or Lakers.

The Spurs sent Leonard to Toronto instead and got All-Star guard DeMar DeRozan in return. The trade has worked out pretty well for both teams.

It's unclear if the Pelicans are going to trade Davis at the trade deadline or wait until the summer to move him. The Lakers are trying very hard to acquire AD, but New Orleans is reportedly not interested in anything Los Angeles has to offer them.

Gregg Popovich has a good relationship with Alvin Gentry, but it's not his job to help other coaches in the league, especially when it comes to trade requests. Gentry and Pelicans general manager Dell Demps have to figure this out together.
