Thursday is going to be a special night at the AT&T Center in San Antonio. The Spurs will be holding a jersey retirement ceremony for long-time shooting guard Manu Ginobili.

The ceremony will feature many of Ginobili's former teammates, coaches and friends. One such guest will be current Charlotte Hornets point guard Tony Parker, who will be joining the Spurs' team flight to San Antonio in order to make it to the ceremony.

“It's going to be very nostalgic,” Parker told Jeff McDonald of My San Antonio. “It will put everything in perspective. You'll start realizing everything we accomplished in this league. It will be emotional.

“I'm ready,” Parker added. “It's going to be an honor to speak. I expect it will be a great night.”

As McDonald explains, the scheduling works out perfectly for Parker. The Spurs play the Hornets in Charlotte on Tuesday night, so following the game, Parker can join the team as they fly back to San Antonio. After the ceremony, he will head to Los Angeles to meet up with his team in time for their Friday night game against the Lakers.

This is Parker's first season away from the Spurs, and he was teammates with Manu Ginobili in San Antonio for the entirety of the latter's 16-year career. Ginobili's jersey retirement ceremony wouldn't have been complete without his long-time teammate and friend.

Tony Parker, 36, has spent this season as a back-up for Charlotte. He has been productive off the bench, averaging 9.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 46.0 percent.

Parker and Ginobili teamed up to lead the Spurs to four championships over the past decade-and-a-half.
