Even for a short while, the old San Antonio Spurs band was back together, and it was as glorious as basketball fans could have ever hoped for.

The most successful “Big 3” of this era reunited at the AT&T center on Monday, as future Hall of Famers Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili were in attendance to witness the jersey retirement ceremony of their beloved point guard Tony Parker.

Shortly after coach Gregg Popovich’s emotional speech, Duncan — who’s now an assistant coach for the Spurs — bared his love and admiration for the French playmaker.

Parker’s backcourt mate, Manu Ginobili, followed after and shared that they never had an agreement in 15 years of playing together.

At the height of their success in the early 2000’s, the Spurs trio of Duncan, Parker and Ginobili were a model of consistency, winning NBA titles in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

The ageless trio proved they had one more run in them, denying the Miami Heat’s own big three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh a title in the 2014 NBA Finals.

Apart from winning multiple championships together, the legendary Spurs trio also has a combined 23 All-Star games appearances between them.
