The match between the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors on Monday was a very competitive one, which was only decided in its final minute. Things even got heated in the fourth quarter when LaMarcus Aldridge and Serge Ibaka were involved in a scuffle following a rebound battle.

With 3:37 left, the two big men were jockeying for position, which continued even after Danny Green already converted on a hook shot. Aldridge then pushed Ibaka after they exchanged a few words to each other, and had to be separated by the referees and their teammates to avoid them coming to blows. They both received technical fouls for their involvement, but fortunately for both Spurs and Raptors, neither of them was ejected.

It definitely caught the attention of their teammates, and even the fans inside the AT&T Center, who loudly cheered their player on. LaMarcus Aldridge’s former teammate, Damian Lillard, also reacted to the skirmish, as he took to his Twitter account to remind his followers about the history between the two.

It can be recalled that Aldridge and Ibaka had another altercation two years ago when they were still playing for the Portland Trail Blazers and Oklahoma City Thunder, respectively. It also came while they were trying to get in position for a rebound, which also resulted to double technical fouls.

The league office may review the incident and both players could face a fine for their actions. However, a suspension seems unlikely as neither of them threw punches, and it also helped that they were separated immediately.
