The San Antonio Spurs prevailed over the Phoenix Suns in Mexico City thanks to Patty Mills' heroics, 121-119. In what was a thrilling matchup between two Western Conference competitors, the Spurs managed to come out on top but it didn't come without a scare.

With the Suns leading by two in the game's closing seconds, DeMar DeRozan's strong drive tied the game and fished for a foul. The Spurs' All-Star, however, missed on his bonus free-throw but San Antonio fought hard enough to secure another possession off an offensive rebound.

This set things up for Mills, who was already having a big night, to take over and drill in the game-winner to give him 26 points in 31 minutes of play.

With the win, the Spurs climbed to 10-15 which is good for 11th place in the conference but only one game behind the eighth-seeded Suns.
