The Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks both still have hopes of earning a spot in the NFL playoffs this season, and enhancing those playoff possibilities will be the primary goals for both teams when they compete Sunday at Lumen Field in Seattle. However, Steelers rookie cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is also looking forward to his matchup with dynamic Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf.

Porter has become a key contributor for the Steelers defense as a rookie. While he has not been the impact player that his father Joey Porter Sr. was as a Steelers hard hitting linebacker, he has 42 tackles, 9 passes defensed and 1 interception this season.

Porter does not lack for confidence, and he has been looking forward to playing against the Seahawks and competing against Metcalf. “I have had this one circled on my calendar for quite a while,” said Porter.

Metcalf represents a huge challenge for any cornerback. Porter has good size at 6-2 and 193 pounds, but Metcalf is one of the physically strongest wide receivers in the league. Metcalf checks in at 6-4 and 235 pounds, and that's where Porter could have an issue.

The receiver should have a significant edge in size and strength, and that should give him an advantage when he tries to wall off Joey Porter or goes up to high point the ball.

Metcalf is Seattle's leading receiver with 60 receptions for 998 yards and 8 touchdowns. Metcalf has excellent speed for a man his size, and he has made 16 receptions of 20 yards or more. He is also a first-down machine as 47 of his receptions have resulted in a new set of  downs.
