The Pittsburgh Steelers are in the market for another quarterback and according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the team is bringing in Paxton Lynch for a visit.

Lynch was a first-round pick of the Denver Broncos in 2016 but he really hasn't panned out in the NFL. Lynch struggled with the Broncos and was released before the start of the 2018 season. He didn't catch on with any team last year but signed earlier in the offseason with the Seattle Seahawks.

Lynch had a strong showing in the first two preseason games with the Seahawks but a hit in the second game knocked him out of that game and caused him to miss the third game.

In the 4th game, he had a chance to win the job but really struggled hitting only one of his seven passes for seven yards. He also rushed the ball five times but only picked up six yards. The Seahawks decided to keep Geno Smith to back up Russell Wilson and cut Lynch loose.

With Ben Roethlisberger lost for the season because of elbow surgery, it leaves Mason Rudolph as the starting quarterback.

The only other quarterback on the Steelers roster now is Devlin Hodges who played his college ball at Samford and was an undrafted free agent signing by the team this offseason.

Hodges spent the first two weeks of the season on the practice squad but on Monday they promoted him to the active roster. If the team decides to sign Lynch or someone else, there is a chance Hodges time on the active roster could be short-lived.
